This annual event occurred on Saturday May 8, 2010 from 7-10pm. Nearly 30 people participated and it provided a great chance for feedback and questions to be answered concerning Catholic Challenge Sports as well as fellowship. The board plans on taking the information obtained from the forum to discuss and utilize in improving the organization.  Thanks to all those who attended.

The first one occurred on Saturday May 2nd, 2009 in the penthouse at the Manhattan Condos downtown in Kansas City, MO. It provided an opportunity for members and prospective ones to learn more about CCS and have their feedback and ideas known.  The format will be similar was similar to the first year and useful information obtained from 2010's is provided below.
Forum Feedback
1) Thought: Too many injuries during dodgeball, the balls were hard to grip, throw and speed balls was too much.
Board: We brought a softer ball that is utilized in another city league which seemed to be well received at the Forum. We plan on utilizing these balls as they are easier to grip, throw and when they hit someone it will not have nearly the effect the old balls had.

2) Thought: There needs to be more fellowship amongst the teams and participants.
Board: We plan on doing a test run on a "draft" for Dodgeball in 2010. Details of the draft will be determined by the board in the coming months and posted on the website once they are available.  This will help for people to mingle and meet new people and could yield new relationships and more teams.

3) Thought: There needs to be immediate prayer before the start of a match.
Board: The referee will find someone to be designated to lead prayer in a welcoming fashion before the start of the match as opposed to just picking someone out when we circle up.

4) Thought: There is too much unsportsmanlike behavior during CCS leagues (specifically dodgeball)
Board: We will work to ensure more people understand Code of Conduct and printed copies will be at each league event. Also Referees and Comissioners will have a zero tolerance on bad behavior (contradictory code of conduct) and it will be stressed to them to sit someone out of a match or suspend them for the week to curb this type of behavior and make it more pleasant for everyone.  We will look at holding the captain's more accountable for their team member's actions.

5) Thought: Refereing in various sports/events has not been consistent.
Board: While it was brought up about bringing in outside referees at the forum or designate 5-6 consistent referees and give them a free sport this is not feasible. Instead There will be referee training at the captain's meeting and also a copy of the rules on hand to give to captain's at the first week of play. Referees will have access to copy rules during league play.  2-3 people from each team will be trained as referees so we can ensure enough people know the rules and can do a good job of refereeing.

6)  Thought: We'd like to see more events offered but not change the existing leagues/events that are offered.  Specifically indoor volleyball, outdoor soccer, tennis were mentioned.
Board: We can take a similar approach that we do with Ultimate Frisbee with these events and make them "pickup" leagues where someone not on the board takes initiative and they are listed on the "beyond CCS" section of our website.  Also one day events are possiblities for golf and other sports that were mentioned.

7) Thought: We would like to see more faith incorporated into sports. Something that encourages people to hang out after the sporting event is done.
Board: Per the Forum idea we are going to look into promoting fellowship by attending a local restaurant/church after competition is over with for the day. Specifically we will take a look at going to adoration, confession and even possibly mass together depending upon the league format.

8) Thought: Pool play for basketball games at Jared & Matty tournament.
Board: We will evaluate this option when planning for next year's tournament.

9) Thought: There should be a sports retreat.
Board: We plan on offering one in the fall and details will be posted on the website and an email sent out once they are finalized.

10) Thought: Royals/Wizards tailgate and game for fellowship
Board: We will take a look into this and see if it is feasible as a 1 day offering.
