Looking for ways to make a difference in the community? Below are a few opportunities and for information on other opportunities feel free to email us. If you have an opporunity you would like for us to put on here let us know as well.
An Evening as a Child
This is an adults-only event designed to encourage guests to play, compete with one another, and have a good time – all for the benefit of a great cause.
Volunteers are needed to serve as "playground monitors" – to help encourage guests to play games, show them how and monitor the activities. Volunteers are also needed to assist with registration. The event is scheduled from 6 p.m. – bedtime on September 18, at the Overland Park Convention Center. Volunteers are asked to make a 2-hour commitment. Seton Center will make sure that volunteers have a chance to take a break and perhaps enjoy some of the games themselves.
Seton Center provides a food pantry, thrift store, high school, socialization services for seniors, rent and utility assistance, wellness programming and safety net dental services. The organization, now in its 41st year of operation, was founded by the Daughters of Charity and the Ladies of Charity of Metropolitan Kansas City. Both organizations continue to provide volunteer, financial and prayer support to the organization.

C 512.971.1331 Volunteer opportunity at Cures Without Cloning
Cures without Cloning, Inc is looking for volunteers to help in the important work of promoting adult (non-embryonic) stem cell research. Since our efforts are web-based we will reach both a national and an international audience. Today, we are unaware of any robust central source where individuals can investigate and research adult stem cell treatments and therapies for various diseases. We would like to create such a central resource. We believe that this is very important to increasing the successes achieved with adult stem cells and this will also offer positive alternatives to life-destroying embryonic stem cell research.
As you may know, Cures without Cloning was started in Kansas and Missouri with the mission to promote ethical stem cell research. You may find details about their organization and mission at www.cureswithoutcloning.com .They have no paid staff and must rely on volunteer efforts to get our message out. Therefore they are now looking for individuals to fill two very important volunteer roles – a “Web Site Intern/Assistant and an “Internet Stem Cell Research Analyst or Intern”. These two positions will help them build this central resource of adult stem cell treatments such that the general public may readily find them. The efforts of these individuals will be reviewed and approved by the neurologist on our board and other board members. If you or someone you know would be interested in either of these positions, Cures Without Cloning would welcome the opportunity to discuss them with you.

Life Front
This organization's mission is to maintain continuous prayer presence and provide sidewalk counseling outside of local abortion centers during operating hours. They also are working to educate and motivate Christians to fight the battle for life. A large group regularly attends on Saturdays 6:30–10:00am, 4401 W. 109 St., Leawood, KS. Every week there is a specific group that comes from 9:30-10:00am to pray the rosary and divine mercy chaplet. If you decide to just come on out then we advise you to park in the "Sun Publications" parking lot only and stand on the public sidewalk when praying.
